The 2027 Anauê Awards
In 2027, the Association of Brazilian Women Researchers in Europe (ABWRE) will host our inaugural Anauê Awards ceremony in Helsinki, Finland. Rooted in the Tupi-Guarani word for connection and sisterhood, this event will celebrate the brilliant trajectories of Brazilian women in STEM across Europe.
During the ceremony, we will present two inaugural honors:
The Sonja Ashauer Prize: Recognizing an early-career "Rising Star" who exemplifies brilliant potential and boundary-breaking achievement, named in honor of the first Brazilian woman to earn a PhD in Physics.
The Thelma Krug Prize: Honoring a senior leader for a lifetime of monumental scientific impact, European doctoral training, and global leadership.
